If you are running an Office 365 tenant which was created AFTER August 1, 2017, Modern Auth is ENABLED by default and your Office 365 tenant should be good to go.
Now let’s start off with the Office 365 tenant …
Since Office 365 tenants can vary in complexity, I’m going to focus on simple Office 365 tenants (ex: a basic Office 365 tenant setup for a small business) however, if you have a more complex environment which utilizes third-party applications, custom scripts and so forth, you’ll need to do further research before transitioning to Modern Auth. A lot of the relevant material is spread across various webpages and isn’t organized well. I’ve gone through Microsoft’s support and technical documents on this topic and it may make your head spin. Now is the time to prepare and make sure your Office 365 tenants and your desktop and mobile e-mail client applications support and are ready for Modern Auth to avoid disruption to service on or after October 13, 2020. Hopefully, Microsoft will expand this feature to Microsoft Outlook for Mac, the Outlook mobile app and possibly directly into Exchange and Microsoft 365 Exchange Online so that it may also work with non-Microsoft Outlook e-mail clients (ex: Apple Mail). Multiply that by the number of users in your company or organization and it’s quite a task so I’m glad Microsoft will finally introduce a native solution (And yes, there are third-party solutions to sync e-mail signatures but frankly, there should be native support). Managing MIS/IT for as long as I have, I know how frustrating and tedious it gets to have to create and recreate the same e-mail signature multiple times for an e-mail account setup on multiple devices. It’s certainly a step in the right direction.
Outlook for mac reconect account windows#
They will not be available for users using Outlook for Windows in conjunction with on-premise Microsoft Exchange servers, third-party mail servers and/or POP/IMAP accounts, at least for now. In addition, roaming signatures will only be available for users using Outlook for Windows in conjunction with Microsoft 365 and mailboxes. That’s not to say Microsoft won’t bring it to Outlook for Mac or the Outlook mobile app in the future. It will not be available in Outlook for Mac or for the Outlook mobile app. Roaming signatures will only be available in Outlook for Windows. No more recreating the same e-mail signature for the same e-mail account setup in Outlook for Windows on multiple devices! When that e-mail account is setup in Outlook for Windows on any devices, the signature will be able to sync uniformly across those devices. The e-mail signatures will be associated with the e-mail accounts and stored in the respective mailboxes. Outlook for mac reconect account Offline#
This will disable the Work Offline feature on the Outlook application.If so, remove the checkmark next to the Work Offline option.Go to the Outlook menu and look for the Work Offline option.
